How do I buy made to order items from Bowerbirds?
Buying from Bowerbirds Interiors is really easy. If you're able to visit the Bowerbirds Chelmsford Showroom at 59 New street CM1 1NE, then this is the best place to start. If not, you can contact us via email: ali@bowerbirds.co.uk or phone the store on: 01245 283201. We are open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am until 5pm.
Do you have any showrooms?
Bowerbirds is a small family run business and we currently have just one showroom in Chelmsford. If you are travelling to see us please let us know so that we can put the kettle on! There are some car parks really close by. The Bowerbirds showroom is in the city centre, opposite the Cathedral and near a beautiful park, so when you've finished shopping at Bowerbirds, there is plenty more to see and do during your visit to Chelmsford.
What is the process for buying made to order items from Bowerbirds?
Firstly you need to let us know what it is that you are looking for so that we can understand how best we can help you.
Once we have an understanding of your likes and dislikes, wants, needs and requirements, then we look for items that will match those.
It might be that you have something in mind already and we are more than happy to work with your ideas, look at your mood boards, floor plans and any photographs you might have.
It's also very helpful to know what your budget is because we have a huge range of fabrics which differ massively in price, and we also work with a variety of upholstery manufacturers, some of which can make to your exact size requirements.
We can send you free fabric samples as well as quotes so that you can choose the best option for you.
Once you have decided what you would like, we will send you an invoice for payment and place the order with our manufacturers. Usually the manufacturing time for upholstery is between 10-14 weeks or between 2-6 weeks for curtains providing the chosen fabric is in stock.
Once you're made to order item has been manufactured, it will then be delivered to Bowerbirds. We will then call you to find out the best time for you to receive your order and base the delivery on a time that suits you.

If my order is ready and my extension is not finished can you hold on to it for me?
We can look after your order for up to four weeks after it has arrived at Bowerbirds. You will need to provide us with a delivery date that you can accept your order and let us know if this changes.
How do I pay for my Bowerbirds order?
You can buy on line direct from the website using a debit or credit card, or if you are buying a made to order items we will send you an invoice for payment. You can use the invoice to pay via Bank Transfer or use the attached link to pay with your debit or credit card. Unfortunately we do not offer any finance options at the moment.
Where are the bespoke products made?
Bowerbirds are proud to support the British manufacturing industry. All of our upholstery is made in Britain, by family owned companies, who are experts in their field and have been manufacturing quality sofas, chairs, footstools and beds for generations. Our curtains and blinds are made by extremely talented local artisans, who excel in their work and know exactly how to make windows look stunning.
Can I change the size of my sofa, chair or footstool?
Most of our manufacturers can make amendments to the dimensions of their products so that they meet your exact requirements. This includes height, depth and width. Please contact us to find out which models are included.
Does the upholstery come with any guarantee?
All of our sofas, chairs and footstools have solid wooden frames and these come with a minimum of 10 years guarantee.
What happens if I spill something on my sofa?
Please see our product care section for more details about how to care for your fabric and leather. There are lots of easy care and stain resistant fabric options to choose from at the Bowerbirds Chelmsford Showroom, and our leather choices include commercial grade hides which are extremely durable. We also offer a stain guard service that can be applied to your fabric if it is not already easy care or stain resistant.

Our website is just a snapshot to show you what we can do. There are loads more sofa styles, chair shapes and footstools that we can make as well as hundreds more fabrics that you can choose from. Please contact us if you can't find what you are looking for.
