This John Sankey sofa is a classic Chesterfield with fixed back and seat. The shape is compact with exquisite details; the front border curves outwards slightly between the arms, the back and arms have swelling curves as they travel from the inside to the outside of the piece and the fine pleats on the front of the arms give a tailored finish.
There is no compromise on comfort, Orwell is neatly proportioned with a formal upright sitting position and has a fully sprung seat and back, softened with laters of foam for additional comfort. Each hand-crafted frame is made from sustainable hardwoods and double or triple dowelled, glued and screwed, with corner blocks for extra rigidity. This robust construction ensures that these frames will last a lifetime.
Covered in Linwood's Cosmos stain resistant velvet, this beautiful fabric is available in an array of colours, a luxurious and durable antique-style velvet that is also suitable for curtains if you wanted to coordinate your windows & other furniture.

This is a showroom sample and is sold as seen. It therefore cannot be returned. You can order additional items in the same fabric, including curtains, blinds and other upholstery.
Delivery is available at an additional cost, collection from the showroom is free. Bowerbirds is based in Chelmsford city centre and we are open from 10am - 5pm Tuesdays to Saturdays. Parking can be found on Waterloo Lane.

Delivery & Returns
Standard UK delivery is £4.50 and can take up to 5 working days. Couriers include Royal Mail, Evri, DHL and DPD. This applies to Cushions, Throws, Paint, ready made Wallpaper, Lampshades and fabric lengths under 5 metres. Made to order wallpaper and bespoke glass lamp bases can take up to 21 days.
Fabric lengths over 5 metres cost £10 for standard UK delivery, which can take up to 5 working days, providing stock is available. Please enquire before placing your order.
Rugs cost £15 for standard UK delivery, which can take up to 14 days, providing stock is available. Please enquire before placing your order.
Made to measure curtains and blinds are collection only unless you have booked our fitting service. Please refer to curtains and blinds page for more details or contact us for a quote.
Our reupholstery service includes collection and delivery after completion. Please refer to the Reupholstery page for more details or contact us for a quote.

When ordering your furniture, please ensure that you have read our page about how to make sure your item is a suitable size - we cannot refund made to measure furniture if they do not fit.
Prior to delivery day, you will need to make sure that the pathway which the furniture will take is clear and that the room it's going in to is prepped for its arrival.
Our delivery team will make every effort to deliver your furniture without damage to your paintwork, wallpaper and woodwork but we advise that you protect these areas and remove any valuables such as rugs, mirrors and pictures to avoid any incidents. If our delivery team have concerns about potential damage to your property or possessions, or if the pathway or room has not been prepared, then they will leave the item at the entrance to your property. You will need to sign a waiver to accept responsibility for any damage that may occur during delivery and placement of your order, if the delivery team feel that there is potential issues.
If there is limited parking or potentially deliver issues, please let us know in advance so that the delivery team are aware.
